Born and raised in Austin, Amanda’s passion for expressing herself through hair and makeup came when she was 5 years old watching her mom getting her hair done, and always admiring all her pretty shades of eye-shadows and lipsticks.
In 2007, she was given the chance to show her talent by working as a Makeup Artist for Origins. Two years later she enrolled in cosmetology school and after accruing 1,500 hours, graduated with awards. As one of the most talented students in her class Amanda was chosen to participate in a national competition called “A Rising Star Photoshoot” at the annual America’s Beauty Show in Chicago, Illinois where she won 1st place. In 2010 she took the stage as a Platform Hair Artist for the new rotating hair iron the “Instyler”.
Her work has been featured in Austin Monthly, The Chronicle, Austin Lifestyle, Austin Woman Magazine, Modern Salon, and was a makeup artist for a guest celebrity appearance for the Jimmy Kimmel Show.
In her free time Amanda expands her knowledge and expresses her creativity working with many professional photographers and models. She has a passion for updos and her classic/traditional approach to them can occasionally be seen at local runway fashion shows. She was a participant in Austin Fashion Week for “Best Makeup Artist” in 2011 and showed her talent with hair and makeup in Aveda’s fashion show Catwalk for Clear Water in 2012.
Amanda has extensive training in makeup with Origins, Prescriptives, Lancome, Mac Cosmetics, Bare Escentuals, and Smashbox Cosmetics. As a Hairstylist she has heightened her skills with classes from Oribe’s celebrity hairstylists Ronnie Stam and Kien Hoang. She has become a well rounded stylist with classes and training with Kerastase, Redken, Wella, Aveda, and Vidal Sassoon cutting techniques. Amanda is excited to be apart of the Red Stella team and enjoys being creative and thinking outside the box with color and cuts.
