Rachel graduated from the renowned Paul Mitchell Cosmetology Career Center in 2005, then furthered her education working as an assistant to several established colorists at Premier Atelier Salon in Dallas. She then went on to work as a stylist and make up artist at All About You Salon which also doubled as a Cancer Recovery Salon. Here, Rachel added to her repertoire cutting and styling wigs and hairpieces. This skill isn’t only about wig care – she helped dozens of women who were undergoing chemotherapy treatments by assisting them through the styling of their wigs, to being there for them during this difficult time, to finally helping them with their brand new hair after they finished their cancer treatments.
After developing a large and loyal clientele, Rachel opened and managed Rachel’s Studio 41 From 2012 to 2014. Her clientele continued to expand and grow into a thriving business. In July of 2014, Rachel took a leap of faith and relocated to the Austin area to start a new chapter of her career and life. Since then she has been rebuilding her new Austin clientele and continues to hone her craft among the other great stylists of Red Stella.
Continuing education and keeping up on the latest trends, products, and techniques in hair and make-up is a top priority to Rachel. She has experience with numerous color lines including Wella, Redken, Pravana, Pulp Riot, and Goldwell. She is a self proclaimed product junkie and is always excited to learn about new product additions to her favorite lines - Oribe, R+Co, Sebastian and System Professional. She has attended R+Co Master Classes with Garren and Thom Priano at the esteemed Luxury Brand Partners Academy in Wynwood Miami. She took the Vidal Sassoon Professional ABC 5 day cutting course from the Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica. Rachel is certified in HairTalk Tape In Hair Extensions. She has taken make-up classes with MAC and enjoys special occasion make-up.
Throughout her career, Rachel has always strived to make the client in her chair happy and comfortable - whether it's a routine trim, or a total transformation. She is an advocate for maintaining the integrity of her clients hair and promoting the importance of healthy hair care. Rachel specializes in a variety of ombré highlighting techniques and loves to play with fun, funky color placement. She is consistent in her men’s cuts whether they are clean and precise or tousled and textured. She takes pride in being able to smooth out the most unruly hair, or teach you how to embrace and enhance your own natural texture with the proper products, tools, and techniques.
